Rakomelo is a centuries old Greek recipe which, as the name implies, is made from Raki and honey. Raki is a brandy-type spirit from Crete, made from grape pomace, very similar to Grappa. The honey and spices come from the Aegean Islands, where locals enjoy Rakomelo as a warm winter delicacy and a remedy for the cold and wet weather. Strong aromas will waft through your home when you serve it hot off the stove (try with a slice of orange and clove.) It's a wonderful harmony of the strong Raki Spirit and sweetness of honey.
Strong, fruity and slightly nutty smell. Naturally sweet and elegant taste of honey, spice, and a touch of nuttiness, with a very rich and delicate mouthfeel.
