What to mix when it's time to find a new planet: Saturn Cocktail Recipe
The calendar says winter is coming, but the chill might turn to a permanent freeze based on yesterday's Presidential nuclear declarations. We're hoping to keep our drinks on the rocks, but our planet neat. As professional merrymakers, we've got the perfect way to stay optimistic and keep your glass half full.
Hoping, but mostly coping:
- Chill with something strong and stable that has 4 Pillars
- 3rd rock celebrations with an Earthy Amaro: natural, soft, and bittersweet
- Frozen options if Earth doesn't last; take a trip to Saturn with the cocktail listed below.
We've taken Martin Cate's recipe from Smuggler's Cove, and made this more of a slush puppie because we're hoping blending in will help us make friends on our new planet.
The Saturn
+ ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
+ ½ oz passion fruit syrup or liqueur
+ ¼ oz orgeat syrup
+ ¼ oz Velvet Falernum or Bitter Truth Falernum
+ 1¼ oz Dry Gin
Garnish: Long spiral-cut lemon peel wrapped into rings wrapped around a cherry (like the planet)
Instructions: Blend all the ingredients together with 1/2 cup of crushed ice until smooth. Pour the contents into a rocks glass. Garnish.
