Distilled on Mare Island (like Monster Island, it's actually a peninsula!) in Vallejo, CA from a mash bill of 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley and aged for at least 3 years in char #3 new American Oak barrels before transferring to Grenache barrels for about 2 months of finishing. The finished rye is then bottled at 100 proof. The nose is fresh and floral with rosewater, lime, and orchard fruit backed by some grassy rye spice. On the palate, citrus leads the way with vanilla, white pepper, and oak following. The finish is medium length with vanilla, grassy rye, and sweet oak.
