Italian Gin Flight
Set includes: Fred Jerbis '43' Gin (700 ml), Winestillery London Dry Gin (700 ml), Bordiga Occitan Gin (1L)
Fred Jerbis is an adventurous young producer from the Fruili region of Italy who is more of an herbalist than a distiller. Fred forages, grows and gathers most of his ingredients locally. The primary ingredients in his Gin ‘43’ are juniper, bitter and sweet orange peel, lemon peel, yarrow, fresh thyme, dried sage leaves, fresh lemon balm, and mugo pine cone. The straw yellow color of the gin comes from a cold infusion of orange blossom and saffron which is done after the infusion of other fresh and dried botanicals both through steam distillation and hot maceration.
Winestillery London Dry Gin Italy has always been an idyllic place for the growth of both wine grapes and juniper berries. This London Dry exemplifies perfectly what the terroir is, expanding the boundaries of Gin. The wine distillate along with a unique selection of Tuscan botanicals is distilled with a Pot Still in order to create a unique gin, capable of transporting you deep into the heart of Tuscany.
Occitan Gin was first made by Bordiga in 1889, and is still made from the original recipe. In addition to orange and lemon peel, only four main botanicals are used, juniper, angelica, cardamom, and a secret ingredient the distillery harvests locally from the Occitan Alps. The juniper used grows wild in the Maritime Alps, some of the highest mountains in Europe. This combination of altitude and maritime influence enriches the essential oils of the juniper berries, lending a unique flavor.
