Ingelred Ben Nevis 11 Year Marsala Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky

We are so thrilled to be able to offer another fantastic Ben Nevis bottling from Swedish IB Ingelred!  This incredible whisky was fully matured for 11 years in an ex-Marsala wine cask from Sicily before bottling without added color or chill filtration at a cask strength of 114.2 proof.   The unusual cask used for maturation has had a magical effect on the rugged, characterful Highland malt produced at Ben Nevis.  The gorgeous amber-hued whisky offers a nose of citrus, almond paste, blackberries, and chocolate. The palate is oily and viscous with flavors of toasted almonds, stewed berries, brown sugar, and dark chocolate.  The dark fruit and chocolate linger forever on a long finish, joined by a touch of orange blossom.

Only one case of this wonderful cask was made available to us, and, remembering how much we loved our previous Ben Nevis bottlings from Ingelred, we jumped at the chance to bring it in.   Ben Nevis does not sell it's original (distillery) bottlings in the United States, making the single malt something of a rarity over here.  Recently, the distillery owners (Japanese whisky maker Nikka) decided to stop selling whisky to brokers and independent bottlers, meaning it will only become harder and harder to find.  Grab one of these unique takes on a classic Highland single malt while you can!
