Highland Park Cask Strength Release #4 Single Malt Scotch

The 4th cask strength release from Highland Park clocks in at a hefty 128.6 proof.  The bottling features whiskies matured in first-fill sherry seasoned European oak, first-fill sherry seasoned American oak, first-fill ex bourbon, first fill ex port hogsheads and a smattering of refill casks, all bottled unfiltered and undiluted with no color added.  The nose presents intense scents of coconut and citrus backed by Highland Park's signature sweet and floral peat.  Rosewater and grapefruit lead the palate before toasted oak and heathery peat take over in the middle of the sip.  The finish brings some spice with ginger and licorice notes leading to sweet floral peat smoke.
