Cocchi Americano Aperitif
$24.50
An aromatized wine created in 1891 by Giulio Cocchi, the name “Americano” is both due to the alcohol made bitter (“amaricato”) by the addition of herbs and spices and to the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda. A base of moscato d’asti, a sweet white wine, is fortified with a touch of brandy, then flavored with gentian, cinchona bark and other bittering aromatics, along with orange peels and herbs. On its label is the original rooster designed in the 30’s - a true icon of Italian Futurist design.
