Widow Jane "The Vaults 2024" 15 Year Old & Rare Bourbon

The Vaults 2024 limited release is a marriage of 15 year old bourbons from a collection of old and rare Widow Jane barrels. After carefully selecting each barrel for its depth of flavor, the bourbon is finished in rare and spectacular Amburana wood casks. Amburana grows in the dry jungles of Brazil and Argentina. A challenging environment with poor soil and irregular rainfall lead to slow growth and limited availability. Amburana wood is renowned for its unexpected combination of warm spices (especially cinnamon), floral, and tropical notes. 

The nose opens with spiced desserts, like amaretto cookies and snickerdoodles,  alongside fig leaf, cherry blossom, honey graham cracker, and Ceylon cinnamon bark. The palate follows and asserts its age with sweet and savory notes vying for supremacy - rosemary, cinnamon raisin, olive oil, burnt sugar, sencha green tea, and roasted yam, leading to a long finish of black licorice, honeysuckle, coconut macaroon, sweet caramelized carrots, and bright satsuma mandarins.
