Home Base 100% Merced Rye Whiskey

The Home Base Whiskey series is a collection of limited release whiskies made from single grain varietals or blends. Each batch highlights Northern California ingredients, soil, and climate to create a unique flavor profile. This batch features Merced Rye grown in Zamora, CA, harvested by Capay Mills. It was distilled in August of 2019 at Sutherland Distilling in Livermore, CA and aged for 4.5 years in ex-Home Base Bourbon Barrels in Berkeley, CA. Only 150 bottles were produced. It is a rich, but rye forward sip, with notes of caraway, cola, buttered toast, caramel, and a hint of citrus, particularly pomelo. Bottled at 61.7% abv.
