The Repeal Reserve line from Ross and Squib's (formerly MGP) George Remus Bourbon is an annual blend released to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition in the United States with the passage of the 21st Amendment on December 5th, 1933. Series VII is composed of 16, 10, and 9 year old lower-rye (21%) bourbon and 10 and 9 year old higher-rye (36%) bottled at 100 proof.
The nose features scents of brown butter, vanilla, caramel, dried figs, and sweet oak. On the palate, cherry and brown butter give way to tobacco, sweet oak, and cola. The finish shows off the higher rye components of the blend with black pepper, clove, almond, and rich aged oak.
