Winestillery Tuscan Red Vermouth
The tradition of Vermouth in Tuscany has very ancient roots, strongly linked to its history of high quality wine making and to its cities that were the vital center of the spice trade. Although it is undeniable that Vermouth has a famous relationship to Turinits actual birthplace is not there.. There are texts from the eighteenth century, which meticulously describe the production of Vermouth in Tuscany, where it was appreciated for its digestive andmedicinal properties. The famous Tuscan doctor Villifranchi in his “Enologia Toscana” of 1773 AD, and the “Pharmacopoea Taurinensis” of 1736 AD cite Tuscan “vinum absinthites”.
The Tuscan Red Vermouth is inspired by the flavors of that time, and explores our tradition with the goal of giving it a personal interpretation. The recipe is simple: a careful selection of fine wines combined with the best botanicals from Tuscany. No color or caramel is used to color it, thus keeping intact the natural ruby mantle of the prince of indigenous Tuscan grapes, Sangiovese.
