New Riff Bottled in Bond 6 Year Malted Rye Whiskey

This exciting release from New Riff is distilled from the unusual mash bill of 100% malted rye and aged six years before bottling without chill filtration at 100 proof.  Using malted rye provides a somewhat rounder, softer flavor while preserving the spicy and dynamic character of a rye whiskey.  The nose opens with sweet cream, maple, and citrus before lively rye spice.  Like the nose, the palate opens sweetly with honey, toffee, and maple flavors.  And, like the nose, the grain asserts itself on the back end with ginger, clove, and rye spice.  The spice carries through a long, delicious, powerful rye finish.
