Wild Turkey 101 Proof Bourbon

Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon is the distillery’s flagship product and has earned a large following as a widely available, affordable, and darn good whiskey.  Distilled from a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, the bourbon is aged between 6-8 years in barrels with a heavy #4 “alligator” char before bottling at the iconic 101 proof.  The age and deep char combine to give Wild Turkey 101 an oak and spice character that lends a depth of flavor not often found in budget friendly bottles.  While near perfect for cocktails, Wild Turkey 101 is also good enough to be enjoyed neat.

Wild Turkey is an absolute institution in the American whiskey world.  The modern version of Wild Turkey was named in 1940 but the brand really took off after Master Distiller Jimmy Russel joined the distillery in 1954.
