This Miyagikyo bottling from the "Nikka Discovery" series is crafted solely from batches of peated malts, to examine something different from the distillery known for its lighter, fruitier whiskies. The peat here is mild on the nose, increasing to moderate on the palate and finish. You'll also find apple skins and gentle barrel spices. Allow the whisky to sit in the glass and sweet caramel joins the apple notes for a nice carnival treat.
