General Gorostieta High Proof Blanco Tequila

This newest release of higher proof blanco was crafted by the Famous Filipe Camarena, master distiller at the family owned El Pandillo distillery (NOM 1579) in the mountainous region of Jalisco. This is the first high proof expression from General Gorostieta. 52% ABV from 100% spring water. 

On the nose, General Gorostieta Blanco immediately captivates with fresh and crisp aromas of cooked agave, citrus, and herbal undertones. The earthy sweetness of the agave is beautifully complemented by the zesty brightness of lime and grapefruit, with hints of fresh mint and green pepper adding complexity to the aroma. There’s also a subtle minerality that speaks to the quality of the soil in which the agave was grown, bringing an added layer of depth to the nose.

The first sip reveals a vibrant, clean palate that showcases the pure essence of the agave plant. The initial flavors are bright and lively, with fresh citrus and green apple leading the charge, followed by the unmistakable sweetness of cooked agave. As the flavor develops, a light peppery spice comes forward, balanced by a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The natural sweetness of the agave lingers, with earthy notes of wet stone and a hint of salinity bringing balance and structure to the profile.

The finish is crisp, clean, and refreshingly dry. The agave sweetness gradually fades, leaving behind a pleasant peppery warmth and a touch of citrus zest. The smoothness of the finish makes this Blanco incredibly versatile—it’s perfect for sipping neat, yet bold enough to stand out in a well-crafted cocktail, such as a classic margarita or paloma.
