Bardstown Discovery Series #6 Straight Bourbon

The Discovery Series honors the art of blending old and rare bourbons, a skill the folks at Bardstown have demonstrated with remarkable aplomb, creating whiskies of fantastic depth and complexity, and winning over more and more whiskey fans with each release. For the sixth edition of the now highly sought after series, they have blended together three whiskies - an 11 year Kentucky bourbon made from 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, a 17 year Tennessee bourbon made from 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley, and a 7 year Indiana bourbon made from 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. 

The nose shows vanilla and brown sugar with char and hints of butterscotch, light citrus, and honey. The palate is sweet and creamy up front, with vanilla, charred oak, floral notes, and toffee. The finish may be the real star here, lingering with cloves, bergamot oil, and big rye spice. Bottled at 55.55% abv.
