Ransom Old Tom Gin

In the mid-1800s Old Tom gin was all the rage. This bottle is Ransom's excursion into reviving that fashionable style. They had inimitable support: this recipe was developed in collaboration with no less an expert than cocktail historian David Wondrich.  Ransom's Old Tom Gin begins from a base wort of malted barley, giving it a slight maltiness you might associate with genever. The maltiness joins a botanical infusion in high proof corn spirits. 

The palate is dry with vigorous spicy flavors like juniper, coriander seed and cumin, with some honey and vanilla notes all married together perfectly. Complex and bold, this is the correct gin for a Tom Collins.
