Plantation Extreme Series V 21 Year Barbados WIRD 2000 Rum

This classically Bajan pot-column blend was first aged for 5 years in Barbados before being moved to Europe to age another 14 years. It was then transferred to age another 2 years in 350L Ferrand French oak barrels. Subtle, complex, but hard not to love, the nose is full of oolong tea, red berries, vanilla and cooked pear with hints of lemongrass, apricot and honey. On the palate, strawberries, hazelnut, guava, sorb, and grapefruit lead to a slightly spiced finish of clove and orange peel.
