Cadenhead Enigma 15 Year Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

When independent Scotch bottler W.M. Cadenhead purchased this cask of whisky, they did not know the provenance beyond "distilled on Islay."  The cask stood out enough that they bought it, aged it for 15 years in an ex-Bourbon Hogshead cask, and bottled it without chill filtration or color added at 109.6 proof.  According to the producer, it is "not your typical medicinal Islay." The nose has scents of applewood, marzipan, and vanilla sponge cake.  The palate features flavors of creme brulee and chipotle sauce, and the finish gives notes of honey lemon boiled sweets, chorizo, and rock salt.
