    Dry Vermouth is great in a martini, and good on ice or with fizzy, but then what?

    The dry vermouth cocktail options aren't limited to clear spirits.  A great classic dark spirit cocktail to modify is a Manhattan - the warm whiskey notes still shine through, but the lovely botanical notes inherent to dry vermouth give the cocktail a fresh twist.

    A very fun way to mix cocktails from scratch, and also to dress, is to start from the end, and work your way backwards. For example, my sartorial character today is nouveau poor aristocrat who has fallen from wealth but not from grace.   Or my cocktail inspiration tonight, is an imaginary drink at the Sundance Film Festival Tonga Room pop-up.

    Venus Spirits’ El Ladron: 3 Bottles & 6 Cocktails

    Venus Spirits has been making organic spirits since 2014, including gin, whiskey, and their funkily categorized El Ladron ‘Blue Agave Spirit’. Made with blue agave from the Highlands of Mexico, it’s not technically tequila since it’s distilled in Santa Cruz. While it loses a label, what it gains is Venus’ hand-pounded copper Alembic still.
