Veso Anchovy Vermouth

Veso Anchovy Vermouth is an intensely savory, umami-forward dry vermouth created in collaboration between San Francisco-based apéritif producer Veso and the tinned seafood brand Fishwife. Originally debuting as an April Fool’s Day joke, it proved so popular that it was released as a real-world product. The beverage is made from a base of organic California Chardonnay fortified with neutral grape spirit, which is then infused with Spanish Cantabrian anchovies, Red Boat fish sauce, shiitake mushrooms, burdock root, wild cherry bark, angelica root, dandelion root, and orange peel. It has sea salt, resulting in a rich, briny taste reminiscent of sea spray and olive tapenade without being overwhelmingly fishy. Use in savory drinks like martinis and bloody marys.
