Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked "Extra Aged" Bourbon

Once a distillery-only release, this highly-sought-after limited edition is now available (in extremely limited quantities) nationwide. Distilled from a mash of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, this bourbon was first matured for 5-7 years in new oak before finishing in a heavily toasted, lightly charred second barrel and bottling at 90.4 proof. While standard Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon spends around a year in the finishing barrel, Double Double Oaked spends two years finishing (double the amount of time), leading to a deeper, more robust profile. The nose has scents of rich oak, baking spice, vanilla, caramel, semi-sweet chocolate, and sweet coffee. Sipping reveals flavors of toasted oak, dark fruit, cinnamon, and clove. The finish features more robust oak and baking spice.
